Sometime on Oct 3, Vinayak R Borkar assembled some asciibets to say:

The question was what you meant by hacking. If you meant exploring the
intricacies of computer systems, then that's okay. If you meant breaking
into computer systems, then you shouldn't be calling it hacking. Call it
something else. Call it cracking if you must, call it breaking computer
security, but don't call it hacking. It gives us a bad name.
