Thanks, Chris. I just tried it. The latest development version available from the Kubuntu repository, 3.3.5. Of the five PDFs I tried it on, only one came out even slightly editable. The others were missing a lot of text. True, these were complex PDFs. So I tried it again on a simple PDF made from an invoice I'd prepared using OO.o. Less than 10% of the text was imported; generally the first letter or two of each line appeared; nothing else.
