I agree with this point of view. This is why I host everything myself. > > Therefore, as a matter of principle I use connection technologies that > are designed neither for consumers nor for datacenter-based content > providers, technologies that are better suited for the community-of- > equals model. Hmmmm. Interesting. I see your point. If one gets FIOS/Cable can't they get symmetric service? I seem to recall Comcast offering that. I know Time Warner Cable does (5x5mbps for ~70.00 a month). So SDSL isn't the only option anymore. Granted it does require a media converter from copper/coax/fiber to ethernet. > It means "this product has been built to the quality standards of the > USSR." What are those standards? Are they outlined somewhere? I'm genuinely curious. Is it equivalent to the "made in America" symbol (ie national pride) or is it some sort of documented standard (like say UL listed?) > > No, I am quite proud of the fact that my products meet the quality > standards established by the country whose values and ideals I continue > to uphold. I totally get that. I respect you for it. Very curious what those quality standards are. - -- Charles N Wyble (char...@knownelement.com) Systems craftsman for the stars http://www.knownelement.com Mobile: 626 539 4344 Office: 310 929 8793 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJNI22qAAoJEMvvG/TyLEAt/QkP+QHscclPw1SnxAb/yO88Y1PZ 6dzlXomkysPAcZFgeJe20tgnqfJE8lVucM96xDO1kJM8uBoE26sfKbmjhLC2/2Yo megvutDv6BAq0/iYzNMLwxaaOwkJCugp1msOqMaxuNUHi4hn4SH3D4fAB2RYbudh 9US87h6hnfJKXOqHyTOnSsUsCoTbUMGGgaknM64FjnxViF57M/nGdcxaE7iJsGM0 HBsmTgRNw39F3tpgNrAigNzkc3VujZW5bFxi87G4S+fV2upSfUJZ6aCqalX7cfd/ hVBVOFYXTY3LMFCGLycWSWxfPOxfxyKz/CYl6RF4kXcm5bSucaTwHj4LuVIF8BDt UOOe/aOEEBFpNsS6J4fPN7PvqUoHUAZNWQbPbuSuq573Q9qXEm/vVHmZY7JXvE3X hOyNkSGj1wW0VyKpAAyWw1gp8QEapZfTmy/BSHBEoADR04loWmfprSgNiuMGE1w2 6CbkQk8MWqd7v0u+S5/yriEpOG9LpYgQMzcZ2rhsDX6sxYw4xC1/pfDT6BfXgtm6 cFwNBO7RZ8Syc6hpjrBbei4EGxbWaXA+DzG71Knu6eVB5DrNPLgi+p6UQdYmX9Q5 2XgQdW87bk2RdEuc2aCzELKDaxuWRCnXSyCcX0VoGYAs8797tI3kZtUKAKAnPtSM Q1zGLR8WS1ZYBL0G1GBj =/rCB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ LinuxUsers mailing list LinuxUsers@socallinux.org http://socallinux.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linuxusers
