"I will have to inform our Westboro Church of Linux leader Chris Penn that this guy needs to be excommunicated."
Indeed... I really get annoyed when people bitch about Linux. First, these people almost always complain about something that does not matter, IMO, and are usually bitching about something that is not Linux (the kernel). The noob complaints are usually about some user-space application that has too many options and needs to be re-themed so that it matches their 1337 wallpaper. Many times you get a bitch-a-thon from some jaded Window$ admin who's first failed Linux experience has lead them to discover that Linux sucks and that FOSS software is a GIANT fail. MOST of the time it does not make sense to blame "Linux" for your problems. It is your/my/our operating system. If you do not like Linux, or any other FOSS application, change it. It is not like there are 5 Linux desktop apps for every task you can imagine. There is no consensus on how a Linux Desktop should look/act and it will probably stay this way. This article is a perfect example of someone complaining about all the wrong things. For example, 'poor skype or flash support' is something to tell the makers of skype and flash about. Flash and skype are not pieces of hardware but if they were this complaint would still be stupid. Bottom-line, If skype and flash are not working for you then skype and flash are the problem. 'Poor quality of desktop apps?' Whatever, this is silly and subjective FUD. Open/Libreoffice/kile/gedit works great and in most cases my desktop apps work 10x better than anything made just for Window$/OSX. Just buy a Mac if you can't handle the learning curve. Chris...
