Though you get a much better improved Multi-Media setup with adding the Ubuntu Restricted Extras the Medibuntu repos give you access to codecs and programs you can't get otherwise. Even some core fonts for web browsing, which are legal to download and use. However, the licensing is not GPL compliant.
