I am using openSuSE 11.2 today. I have Kubuntu 9.10 and Fedora 12 installed, but OpenSuSE is the distro du jour. I don't take offense that you read lots about Ubuntu. It is what most people use and they write based on their own experience. Sometimes we need to hear about what we don't use so that we do not get too set in our ways. I think that most people understand that Ubuntu is the front runner but that does not in itself make it the best or mean that other distros don't count.
I wonder why anybody would want to make Ubuntu look like a ten year old operating system. It seems to be a step back in more ways than one. Just because something can be done, does not make it a good idea. I think that making something look like something else begs the question, "Why not just use the thing that you like?". If you want Windows use it. I am not saying not to transform things, but use some imagination.
