Good testing! Did you try to press the stylus while you were out in the corner? My pointer jumps out into the corner when I do so I can get out into it, but I agree that can be a bit annoying... I did a few checks with wacdump and xidump as I tested the behaviour and wacdump shows the correct values (as we want it) xidump doesn't... So this seems to be something in the X-driver...
