I was having similar, though not exactly the same, jumping behavior with my mouse. My mouse pointer tends to jump around in a seemingly random way when it gets to the edges. At first I thought it was when the on-screen cursor moved to the edge of the monitor. Now, after what you say, I realize it's happening when I move the pen tip beyond the borders of the edge of the square on the tablet.
