Calm down and look back to the Reporting feature of MX 7 and the stink that
created.
Common sense prevailed although the reporting really needs some work!

That's actually a pretty dumb decision, if you ask me. If they'd have them
available for all, you'd be seeing...i think... much more experimentation,
and thus growth of the concept.
I guess this surprises me more that it's MM that's doing this. They're
usually SO much better on decisions like this.

Yep Mark--event gateways are only available in CFMX 7 Enterprise. Not sure
what gateways Peter is referring to as available in Standard, but event
gateways are an Enterprise-only feature (and well worth the money if you
need them!).
