Sure for _older_ kits. But Z2.0 is barely two months old. It takes
almost that long for new kits to show up in US retail shops, and it's
already being dumped in HK?

Anyhow one must assume that things work out over the "block booking".
Otherwise HK retailers would just drop the whole damn product line in
flavor of Banpesto twinkets. Those things (e.g. Gundam
Collection/Neo) must be making a mint for everyone.

Are you sure? I definitely believe the HK is up near the top in terms
of Bandai-loyalty. The number of kit sale per capita per year must be
way up there next to Japan itself. But it's still just one city.
What's the pop now? 7 millions? That's still 1/40 of the US
population or almost 1/200 of CN population. Without numbers in front
of us, I can _perhaps_ believe that HKers buys 40x more Gundam
kits/goodies than USers, on average. I can perhaps believe that HKers
buys 200x more Gundam kits than CNers, but that won't last more than a
few years. CN will never be as loyal a market as HK, but it will
easily out-size HK. Actually if Bandai can get only 1% market
penetration in CN, it will already outweight Japan itself.

That's the power of size. Countries/markets like the Netherlands and
Canada are so small they can hardly make any noise in global economy.
So CA run things as if it's an appendage of US, NL run things as a
province of EU. HK and TW are niche appendages of CN now.

[Way OT PS] watch TW my friends. The shits are hitting fans out
there. It's getting buried in the noise between Middle East and NK,
and even Philipines. Google News, being "completely unbiased", is (1)
making it no more than a flash in the pan (which suits China just
fine) and (2) if a user insists on searching for TW news, making
China's POV much more visible than TW's or US's (which suits China
even better). (and which, if anyone out there is still following...
connects back to Googlezon/Appleseed)
