You know... if it's Dolby 2.0 it's only going to be marginally better
the letterbox version of VHS tapes.

But it won't deteriorate as quickly as the VHS tape version.

As far as them coming out again, I have to agree with you. Now that George
has backed off of his promise to never release them again it is entirely
possible that you are right. That being said I might go back to my project
of editing the current DVD versions to remove Jabba and fix the Greedo
scene.

I like the Jabba scene in the latest version with the exception of Han
stepping on Jabba's tail. I still can't see how Jabba didn't have him shot
right there for that indignity. I think that they could've handled it
better by replacing the visual frames where he walks around Jabba with the
scene of Chewbacca standing off to the side and keeping the audio track
minus Jabba's yelp of pain. We can just assume that Han never walked behind
Jabba, he just walked in front. It might look odd to look away from Han
during the dialogue, but it maintains the "integrity" of the Jabba
character. It keeps him as a threat and not as a wimp who can be walked all
over. If I have the capability to keep the audio but swap the frames I
might try it for kicks.
