Well more importantly a wide screen DVD gives you 480 lines of video. But a letterbox VHS gives you only about 364 lines. About 122 lines
of bandwidth are wasted.

BLAH! Sure it sets things up for later events, but Jabba scene isn't absolutely necessary. Either skip it or reshoot it. With modern make up technique it shouldn't be hard to bring back Harrison Ford's youthful look for one little scene. Failing that, there are plenty of actors who can handle one scene as Solo.
