Hmmm very curious undertone ;-)
Anyhoo... I know where you are going with it. We never see woman
pilot just a plain old grunt like Zaku and GM. The women we see are
either superchicks (Topp and Haman); mystic (Lalah); mad (Four and
Pulu); outmatched (Sayla and Christinia) ... Emma, Marvette and Sochie
are about as normal as you can get, but you also get a feeling they
have to overachieve the men just to stay in their positions.
Actually... IIRC Zanscare Empire might have a few sane female pilots
in regular gruntish MS.
There is the one woman from MS Igloo, Monique Cadillac, who both
appears on the bridge of the Jotenhein as well as actually sorties
in the Zudah. I seem to recall she even got a few kills on several
GMs. You could definitely say that it's a grunt, and any argument
about it being a typical "hero" unit goes out when you consider that
the Zudah was inferior to the Zaku.
Sure this is a retcon example, but from what I've seen, MS Igloo
seems to be taking great care to not upset the timeline in the same
way that, say, 08MST or 0083 did.

If we're allowed to go out of gundam, the ultimate estrogen powered
Tomino series is Brain Powerd.
