I, on the other hand, have recently read a post from someone (specifically, Woody over at GUComics, if anyone knows who that is) who got the PG Strike and apparently liked it a lot (he mentioned that his other PG model is the Wing Gundam).
Tastes do vary, to a certain extent.

I've been pretty good about it personally. The only Seed models I own are
the 1/100 Red Frame Astray, the 1/60 Strike (Not the PG version), and the
main grunt Monoeye. Even in my impulse buys I try to stick to designs I
like. The only questionable impulse buy I did recently was the MG F91 and
it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. But since I am not a Japanese
consumer, it doesn't matter...
