Another angle that hasn't come up is the role of a high profile
creator. With Tomino out of the picture, is no one able to take a
stand from the creative end? Is it all driven by accounting and
marketing from here on out?
I think there are quite a few big-shots out there who has enough
weight to counter any marketing machine. But I don't know if anyone
in the current Gundam team who is able and willing to take that
challenge. None of the three remaining big names: Okawara, Yaz and
Katoki, is a viable candidate.
It's certainly interesting that Bandai wants to keep Yaz busy on the
Origin and not exploit his talent or star power on Seed and the "3rd
Fan Base".
