Personally, my view of VOTOMS is like Matthew Robinson said - Wiseman
manipulated politics and governments to save Chirico, not bend reality in
bizarre ways. Also, if you look closely, the revelation of Chirico being an
Overman isn't a last minute thing at all. Throughout the series, there are
quite a few cases where Chirico is mysteriously saved, or pursuing enemies
are called away. And as he learns more about the Perfect Soldiers, he's
questioning what he really is through the whole show. I definitely wouldn't
categorize it in the same vein as Lucas' midichlorian nonsense.
