Yes.

I wasn't referring to this, but that's actually a pretty common theme
as well. It shows up in Eureka 7, in SEED, in 0080 (sorta), in 08th
MS Team, and even farther back in shows like Southern Cross, Ideon (I
think), and others. It's a classic trope that resonates well in any
country that's had to deal with civil war (which often gives rise to
situations where one family member is pitted against another).
