If they didn't what would be the point of their involvement? Getting good
performances out of the drawings?
Or the VAs. The director decides how the story will be told, but does
he have any power over scripts and plotlines? Maybe if he's married
to the scriptwriter, a la Destiny, but how common is that sort of arrangement?
