That may be true so far as it goes, but since .us has been used
primarily as a name space for public entities, it has been affected
by government policy. And Jon Postel administered it for the ISI
under USG subsidy (or so I presume).

In any case, any materials you can provide as background, such as
the current status of the USPS proposal, would be much appreciated.
I think it would also be useful to know as much as can be
ascertained about NSI's interest in .us (NSI is presently paying ISI
to administer .us, according to Don Telage). Do you have any
information about this?
