I don't remember the exact details..... but NSF I think told NSI to pay
ISI/postel the cost.  that came to an end on october 1 and if I remember
correctly the postal service is now paying about $100,000 a year for this.

Talk to andy sernovitz....sopme of his members were interested in keeping
out of the USPS hands.


Postel had explain to his sub registrars that he'd like have to start
charging them in october..... but again when the USPS agreed to pay, the
sub registrars were back on the free bandwagon again....


many knowledgable people feel that Jon's adminsitartion of .us rendered it
largely useless.
