Why do you care what they think?  Again, why haven't you taken your case
(as long as it takes) to the Internet community at large?  If you have, and
the result is that they do not wish to have the new TLDs that you (and
others) have proposed in the root, why do you think ICANN should go ahead
with this anyway?  If ICANN is supposed to act in the best interests of the
Internet community, and the community is not crying out for the addition of
new TLDs, why should ICANN push for them?  And ultimately, does ICANN really
have any authority here?  As the Internet community could recognize the
new TLDs you advocate, regardless of ICANN, they can also easily refuse to
honor them.
