I don't believe I would want to characterize ICANN and most
especially it's (Initial?) Interim board and now it's newly and obviously
illegitimately elected members along with those that were elected
DNSO/NC members. (Remember the ICANN bylaws that were
Pointed out by both Karl Auerbach and Tony Rutkowski where
ICANN itself is "Compelled" to abide by the recommendations of the
DNSO). See the picture here yet Dennis, or anyone??

How utterly true, and it seems that this is at least in part, the two polar
political positions. But I would and have argued, that the market based
model is more likely applicable as the overall and long term solution via
it's inherent evolutionary tendencies.

Agreed. But it seems that the ICANN BoD, the DNSO illegitimately
elected NC members can't or won't accept this. As such, they have
decided or are in the process of deciding that market based free trade
and exchange needs to be tightly controlled. Of course, as you very nicely
pointed out Dennis, this has been tried before, failed every time, and
is highly unlikely to succeed now. However as long as there are those
that refuse to understand this, even though they are very well aware
of it, will severely damage millions of peoples lives, and likely postpone
the futures of those not even involved or interested yet.
