All good suggestions, IMHO. Let me ask about another option; has
there been any discussion re pros/cons of establishing a newsgroup,
say comp.lang.rebol, for our community.

PROS:

Existing systems (e.g., deja News) that maintain searchable archives.

Scalability and focus via existing newsgroup hierarchy conventions
(comp.lang.rebol.media, comp.lang.rebol.docs, comp.lang.rebol.newbies,
comp.lang.rebol.immutableseriesandwhatisaseriesanyway ;-)

CONS:

Spam, spam, spam, and spam.
