We run the Enterprise version which does sync with AD, just not very well. We used to use Truecrypt and encrypting a drive with SecureDoc takes significantly longer. I think you can unlock a remote drive with the Enterprise version, but you need to export key(s) with rights to that device from the management console to a bootable USB stick that has their SDRecovery tool on it. After you boot it up you run the tool and you can unlock access to the drive using one of the keys you exported. Just not feeling the love for this product right now. The original SA who was tasked with setting it up had no love for it either, but fortunately for him he got too busy with other tasks so the boss dumped it in my lap. :-(
