The PMG seems to have the most HP for the weight. The Etec (I have heard) has
issues with reliability. The ADC series are really awesome but you pay a weight
penalty, and on a bike that is critical. Something to consider, yeah you can
buy cheap 74ah or higher batteries but then the physical attributes limit how
many you can carry, and how they fit. On my bike I measured and designed the
battery trays to fit between the rails, I did preliminary design in canvas (a
design program), turning the batteries this way and that. Using AGMs, I was
allowed to place them on their side which provides more flexibility in the
design. So far I have found no negative results of being on their side. I found
my batteries at Battery Solutions in Lubbock, TX. Mine are Universal 12550,
deep cycle 55ah, ran $63 a pop plus shipping for 6 or more batteries. They have
a pretty good selection, easy website to find options.
