it is 48 volts, my average commute is 20 miles which is done in about 45
minutes. to make it simpler lets say 1 hour per 20 miles so 600 miles / 20 =
30 hours that is a lot less than what it should be?!

could a misaligned motor to wheel account for this? if so why would the
brush wear be symmetric

  what is your voltage ?

Etek brushes life is told to be near 1000 hours at continous rating and 500
hours at 150A this on 48V, higher will short this a lot !

2007/8/19, dale henderson < [EMAIL PROTECTED]>: needed to replace my
brushes after only 571 miles on the motor [1500 total thus far for the bike on
electric power] the brushes were worn down to 4 mm on the neg and 1 mm on the
positive.

what has been other peoples experiences with the frequency of etek brush
replacement?
