For work item queries, the permission that you're after is "PROJECT level: GENERIC_WRITE"
The different permission ACL's are detailed here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms243826(VS.80).aspx Unfortunately it looks like the permissions aren't fine-grained enough: Users who have this permission can edit project level groups and permissions. They can: * Create, delete, or rename a project level Team Foundation Server application group. * Add/remove a Windows user, Windows group, or another Team Foundation Server application group to/from a Team Foundation Server application group (at the project level). * Change grant/deny/remove project permissions for users and groups. * Add/remove project level WIT queries. There's one work around I did it, remove the Delete Option from the Security of the SharePoint Portal, then all contributors can't delete documents from the Team Explorer. But what about the I want to prohibit the Delete options for Queries and reports ???? AFAIK, You can't deny somebody the permission of 'delete documents' in WSS v2.0. If they can write, then they can delete. However there are two ways you might achieve it: * Customise the process template. You can add/remove permissions to each of the standard TFS groups (Reader, Contributor, etc). This will require you to create a new Team Project with the updated template. * Add a new group called "Developers", apply the same permissions as "Contributors" - except for the ones that you don't want. This doesn't require a new Team Project.
