Hi,
The XSL files I mentioned below are used to transform the XML (work item data) into HTML for the notification emails generated by the TFS application tier. Here is a link to an FAQ <http://aspfaqs.com/aspfaqs/ShowFAQ.asp?FAQID=203> which explains in more detail. [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] Hi. Thanks for that info Buck. I will look at that web site. PS, not sure what you mean about the XSL files. I did not mention XSL files. I have set up both TSWA emailing, and TFS alerts, and both work, but only if [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] is in the subject. There is a temporary workaround, which is making it work for now, but the admins will close that loophole soon, and then nether TFSWA emails, not TFS alerts will work without modifying the subject. Thanks David ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Buck Hodges Sent: Wednesday, 19 December 2007 1:23 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [OzTFS] Team System Web Access, Email subject? [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] While that's a very reasonable guess, the email functionality in TSWA is separate from the alert email functionality in TFS, which uses the XSL files you mention. The easiest workaround that I can think of would be to change the title of the task to include that text. Then it would be in the subject when the email is sent. You can submit bugs and feature requests through Connect (http://connect.microsoft.com), though I don't know whether there is an entry in there for TSWA. I'll make a note of the feature request. [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] Hi, If I had to guess (haven't verified this) the emails from TSWA should be rendered using the same email templates from the TFS Application Tier. If this is in fact true you could edit the appropriate .xsl (found in %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server\Web Services\Services\v1.0\Transforms) and concatenate "[SEC=xxxxxxxx]" into the subject line. Wes From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Eggins, David Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 1:06 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OzTFS] Team System Web Access, Email subject? [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] Hello We use Team System Web Access, and would like to use the Tools | Send as Email functionality when viewing a task. The problem is, we have a system where ALL emails must have "[SEC=xxxxxxxx]" in the subject. Usually, "[SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]". What I would like to do is specify a default subject addition text to tack onto the end of the email subject in TSWA. Ideally, it would look for the "[SEC=", and if found, not add the extra one, but I would guess that is asking too much. I am assuming that this is not currently possible, but how would I submit this for a request for future versions of TSWA?
