On a more serious note, I'm about to order the Tide Marine version of the sail track. My boom is about 5 feet off the deck. When the main comes down, I have to climb up on something, usually the winches, to help drag the sail down. It still has the old slugs in a slot in the mast and no amount of lubricant will make it fall naturally. Now that I've achieved the ripe old age of 63, I'm not as nimble as I once was and balancing on a couple of round objects that move while hanging on for dear life and dragging down a balky canvas on a bouncing boat isn't as much fun as it once was.
Since my financial advisor told me if I continued my thrifty ways, I'd be leaving my heirs a bundle of money, since we are DINKs, I decided to try to solve that problem. I'm looking at the Tide Marine version. I wonder if anyone would care to comment on my choice, pro or con. They look like they've been at it for a while now. I have someone lined up to install the cars but I'll probably have to take the boat to Ft Lauderdale to find someone to help me assemble the bloody mess. Later, Jim S/V Wind Angel, St. Simons Isle.
