Jim, Oh. I get it now. The stock sail track doesn't work right. Have you tried sanding with a very fine grit paper or a hone stone? I've read somewhere that one can build a block that will hold a piece of sandpaper against the inside of the track and then you pull it up and down the length of the track with your halyard attached to the top of the block and a free line attached to the bottom of the block.
