My solution (I'm from China, ME) was to get south for the winter. From what
I hear this year you will have to pick the 6 hrs between snow storms ;.)

Can I also ask any tips on sailing this time of year. We will just go
out on the bay near land but
will anchor out (weather permitting). I plan to tow an inflatable with
ditch bag with GPS and VHF.
Wear PFD on deck and be very careful. But in general, any "watch outs"
to consider??

many thanks seafolk,
