Caleb, Your description of the "yachty" environment in the south (yes, New Orleans) is exactly what I have experienced. The south is not New England, that is for sure. One place that was pretty decent, a few years ago anyway, was Appalachicola, FL. Nice locals, lots of shrimp, no yachty stuff. Not sure what is like there now though. Some how we just cannot get pointed south anymore.
