Philip, I have something similar and have had it for more than 15 years.
I use it to vacuum seal "Ball" (mason) jars, reseal various glass jars that the Admiral has opened, etc etc. The Ball jars are reusable, glass, do not take odors, have lids that one can replace, along with rings, and save the environment. I have used the marinate container to rapidly marinate meat, fish, lamb and pork. 30-60 minutes seems to equal 12 hours the old way. For produce, I use evert-fresh bags. I also use the roll of vacuum bags to long term store spare parts, spare electronics, and other stuff that would otherwise deteriorate. As for source, i get mine locally... So far, we have used it to vacuum pack coffee beans and nuts in FoodSaver VacLoc bags. _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
