Sam, Steve Ballmer (not my favorite Redmontian) is talking about listening to the people and extending XP's life. I am one of 400,000 people to sign a petition to keep XP support and sales alive at MS. Also, if you buy a computer from Dell (I think HP also) they will give you, if requested, a disk to 'downgrade' Vista to XP. I am waiting for Windows 7, supposed to have the kernel of server 2008, a big improvement over some of the past bloated OS's from MS. I think this info is valuable to most live-aboards, so I posted it here. (You are a MacManiac?)
