Can't give you details, as I run Linux, but on another list (I think the thinkpad list) there has been a discussion recently on a buggy service pack that has caused problems for some people, so maybe this is the first place to look. One person said that he never installs a service pack until a few months have passed, this way, MS can fix the crap they put out before it affects him. Of course, my advice is to use Linux instead, but I don't want this to degenerate into the OS religious war. Still, if you're interested in the possibilities, check http://www.debian.org > ...
