Mahogany FinishCetol does not need to be stripped, only in areas with damage. Generally 2 coats over the old each year works. If you don't apply a finish of some sort, the wood will wear away. I used Cabots (home) deck stain on my teak decks with great success, but I am guessing mahogany should be sealed. You can use granular Draino (lye), corn starch and water. It is OK with gel coat and being water base you can easily clean gloves and tools. What would be the best thing to use on my exposed mahogany? I don't want to mess with something like Cetol that is going to look like crap and have to be fully stripped every year. I always used to use teak oil on my teak. Should I do the same with the mahogany? Also are there any water safe paint strippers out there? Thanks, Vern ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
