What about mahogany that has been sitting for years and the other stuff that is covered with nasty baby blue paint? Should I use the same kind of thing and what should I use as the filler stain?
How about something mixed with linseed oil? I have used a stain/linseed oil/poly urethane mixture on household wood working projects. ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ron Rogers Sent: Monday, June 02, 2008 12:10 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Liveaboard] Mahogany Finish With new mahogony, we used to use a filler/stain first. Mahogony has open pores which should be filled before applying the first coat of varnish. Using such a filler should reduce the number of necessary coats of varnish. Ron Rogers
