Rick,
Thank you for responding and the clarification. On further reflection on the
question of whether I want a liveaboard or and cruiser I was reminded of a
friend from Hawaii who told me 90% of people who own sailboats never leave the
dock. Hence, it was a legitimate and practical question. If I never leaave
the dock there are lots of things I won't need like sails, anchors, navigation,
fuel, motor, etc. Hence, lots cheaper.
The thought of having a boat I don't move is very unattractive. The sailboat I
buy will be a means to an end and a partner in my travels. Add in all the
romantic buzz words from here.
For now I am content with my frustration by gathering information and taking
boating classes while a search for a boat. I am hoping to fall in love with a
boat at some point soon, and buy it. Whatever it is.
It seems you and your lady are pretty much where I want to eventually be.
Thanks again,
Casey
