I once had to ride out a storm that was bashing me against a concrete wall.
I tied a second rode to the same anchor ( didn't have two storm anchors) 
and placed it well away from the vessel
By adjusting the two rodes I was able to position the hull about six 
feet away from the wall and void contact.
Water depth was only 10 feet so I had plenty of scope for a good set.
