A replacement entrance has been dredged now. Don't follow that old route.

It might not be a mile long, but you still have to follow along the beach.
You need to go all the way to the first channel marker and then along the beach
until you are fully in the channel. If you try to cut the corner you will be in
shallow water quickly!
