Skip,

I suggest you get on the rec boat cruising newsgroup and ask larry, 
w4csc.  He's a long time resident.  He'll give you the straight 
skinny.   He's one of the good guys, crusty but good.

IMHO you'll be hard pressed to do better than Tiger Point.  Folks here 
swear by them.  It's only a little over two hours to Charleston from there.
