For sure your Whistler inverter is very cost effective so you can spend the
remainder on other goodies.

My Trace was $2K but there *are* lots of bells and whistles.  It is
microprocessor controlled and can be set up for selling back power to the
grid in various ways, even turning on a genset automatically..

My favorite is the three setable 12VDC relays that I can set the pull-in
and drop-out voltages.  I use one to turn on the house battery box vent fan
when charging voltage level is present.
