I have to second that. I love my Kodak all in one. The transformer is a separate power brick like a laptop and is 36v at 60w for the output. So it might be possible to run it from a 12v source with the proper transformer. I would imagine that the non all in one version doesn't need anywhere close to the 60w that this needs. I am sure most of that is the scanner bulb.
