regulator. Deep cycle AGMs usually have a different  maximum charge voltage and 
always have a much higher charge acceptance (amps)  ability. Therefore, 
without a temperature sensing regulator, you could easily  overheat an 
undersized alternator. AGMs cost real money and I would baby  them.

Anyone  know If I put in AGM batteries and an AGM battery charger, will my 
standard  Perkins alternators be ok with AGM Batteries or would I have to 
change  them also?
