There's a  limit to how good a sound proofing you can get when the
engine is mounted solidly to the hull, as most boats are, due to
thrust needs from the prop.   We used the foil back lead foam stuff
which worked well, but as said, the noise through the hull was still
there. Still, it does help.

Don't know re: the duct board though. I have no experience with that.
