Hi,
Last night I got the lfslivecd-x86-6.2-pre1.iso. It boots fine and
works properly when I have the CD installed in my (IDE) primary CDROM
Drive.
If I have the CD in the secondary CDROM Drive when it enters initramfs
and does the "finding CD..." bit, it fails, tries a couple of times
then turns off my PC.
Things of note about my PC:
ASUS NForce4 Mobo: A8N-SLI Delux
AMD 64 3200+
1G Ram
Primary CDROM: DVDRAM Drive (On IDE)
Secondary CDROM: Dual Layer DVDRW Drive (On IDE)
200Gb Hitachi SATA disk drive...
Hope this helps someone
Unfortunately, the provided information is not sufficient for us to
diagnose the problem. Please provide the following:
1) The devices (i.e. /dev/hd?) that correspond to your two CD-ROMs.
2) The items from your linux .config files that correspond to your IDE
and SATA controllers.
Hi Alexander,
I do not have any Linux on this computer yet so I don't have a .config
file. Although when the LiveCD runs, It finds the hard disk partitons
correctly as /dev/sda{1,,4}.
I'll reboot into the LiveCD later and get the cd nomenclature although I
am pretty sure it will be /dev/hda1 & 2 as these are the only things I
have on the IDE bus.
Cheers
Alan
