I am trying to change the kernel used in the liveCD. I have recompiled a new kernel within the liveCD environment, and attempted to insert this into the iso as per the README. I have tried both adding it as a separate kernel and overwriting the default kernel in /boot/isolinux. However, neither seem to make any difference - when checking uname it is still the old kernel that is used and the cpqarray module is still loaded.

The reason I am trying to change the kernel is because the kernel used in 6.2-1 has cpqarray as a module and not compiled into the kernel. According to http://www.mcnabbs.org/andrew/linux/proliant/ it must be compiled into the kernel and not as a module. I am getting the errors described on that page which means that I cannot access the hard disks on my Compaq DL360 G2.

Therefore, either advice on how to change the kernel myself, or if someone could give me access to a fixed iso I would be most grateful.

Thanks,

Andy Beverley
