Hi guys,
There is a problem I've had to deal with for a long time, and I hoped in
1.0 for it to be fixed.
And that is using VSTs on windows.
I have a win7 64bit, 4GB ram, 3.00Ghz, lmms 1.0.2 and this occurs with
most VSTs, like SuperWave P8, Synth1 and also softer ones.
If I use LMMS for some minutes and then I try to load a VST, I know it
will make LMMS crash. With no error message of course.
I think it's a known bug, but the question is: what can I do? Do I have
to close LMMS and open it again every time?
Most of my songs have no VST at all. And I'd love to use Synth1,
Kairatune, Oatmeal. But I can't, because, to avoid crash, I have to open
and close LMMS every 2 minutes.
LMMS is a great program already with its instruments, but I'm tired of
not being able to use any VST for a song. So is it my problem, is it a
known problem, is there any other fix in the master branch?
[I'd like to repeat it: if I use LMMS for some minutes, even just
tweaking the default TripleOscillator and writing a score for it, then I
load a VST and it crashes while loading, every single time. Moreover,
using VSTs for some minutes will make the program crash anyway.]
Again, I know you already discuss a lot about the RemoteVSTPlugin
process not closing well, but on my computer it's crashing even while
trying to load it.
I'm sorry If I may sound like a customer complaining about a software, I
know LMMS is open-source and that developers do a lot of work for free:
my point is that this behavior has been like so since 0.4.13 or
something like that...
