To my knowledge, this doesn't happen for most people.

Can you describe your setup more? Which audio backend are you using?
Have you tried doing a complete reinstallation, cleaning the registry,
running a virus scan, etc.? Make sure you always install LMMS to the
default path that is suggested by the installer, and also make sure that
none of the paths in the settings contain any UTF-8 characters, ASCII only.
