I'll try my best. I can even give you a dxdiag if you want it.
My computer setup
- AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor, 3.00Ghz
- Ram: 4,00 GB
- Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 64bit (6.1, build 7601)
- ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series, about 2296 MB
- Realtek High Definition Audio

my LMMS setup
- Buffer: 4096 frames (92.9 ms)
- "sync VST plugins to host playback" is off
- Directories contain letters, number and spaces (not underscore, but spacebar). These are compulsory, because of windows naming its Program path like "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)". No other symbols. - Auto save feature is ON, but for some reason I can't recover projects since 1.0.0, but this is another story
- Audio Interface: SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer), no device set
- Midi interface: WinMM MIDI

And I think that's all...

I did a complete reistallation whit 1.0.0, cleaning registry.
I didn't run a complete virus scan tho. I have 2 antivirus running (Avira, MSE)

Hi guys,
There is a problem I've had to deal with for a long time, and I hoped in 1.0 for it to be fixed.
And that is using VSTs on windows.
I have a win7 64bit, 4GB ram, 3.00Ghz, lmms 1.0.2 and this occurs with most VSTs, like SuperWave P8, Synth1 and also softer ones.

If I use LMMS for some minutes and then I try to load a VST, I know it will make LMMS crash. With no error message of course.

To my knowledge, this doesn't happen for most people.

Can you describe your setup more? Which audio backend are you using? Have you tried doing a complete reinstallation, cleaning the registry, running a virus scan, etc.? Make sure you always install LMMS to the default path that is suggested by the installer, and also make sure that none of the paths in the settings contain any UTF-8 characters, ASCII only.
